Mary Ternovsky is an American artist, international author, and licensed psychotherapist whose work explores how visual imagery can influence both inner states and the atmosphere of the spaces we live in.

Her paintings are not created as neutral objects, but as carefully developed visual environments. Each work is selected and composed with intention—to support clarity, restore balance, open new possibilities, and enhance the energetic quality of a home or interior space. Drawing on her understanding of perception, attention, and spatial harmony, as well as principles of feng shui, her work is designed to interact with both the viewer and the surrounding environment.

Mary combines formal training in painting, including studies at the Vasily Polenov Art School, with an academic background in law and international business (MBA), alongside professional training in psychology with advanced specialization in EMDR therapy (member of EMDR Europe). This unique combination allows her to approach painting not only as an artistic practice, but as a structured and intentional process.

Working primarily in oil on canvas, she creates landscapes and still life compositions inspired by the Tuscan environment. These works are developed to engage perception in a direct and intuitive way—supporting shifts in emotional experience, focus, and overall sense of well-being.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Washington, D.C., Frankfurt, and across Italy. Alongside her artistic practice, Mary is also an author whose books have been translated into multiple languages.

She is currently developing new projects, including an art therapy book and a series of oracle cards based on her paintings, extending her work beyond the canvas into interactive and applied formats.
